Utility Sales Analyst

We are seeking a Utility Sales Analyst- Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist to work with an existing Utility Sales Department in the development solar power plant projects for key investor-owned electric utilities, municipal utilities and independent power producers in the US. The Utility Sales Analyst (GIS) Specialist will help formulate proposals for electric utilities, a key aspect of supporting the aggressive sales goals for the US Utility Department. We are looking for a team player with the ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment. The candidate should be self-motivated and able to take direction well from the sales executives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. This position will be responsible for supporting multiple facets of US Utility Department sales including but not limited to:
• Perform GIS-related tasks for the preparation of comprehensive proposals based on client specifications, site conditions, policy considerations, competitive landscape, and strategies provided by members of the SunPower’s Utility Department.
• Forming working relationships with other SunPower departments, including Project Management, Design, and Finance, to gather requested information for proposals.
• Developing customer-focused product and service GIS-related presentations.

Other Duties
• Conducting GIS- related research of candidate sites for project feasibility, using public sources and various GIS packages to determine site factors
• Coordinating with projects team for utility project development
Education and Experience
•Strong GIS skills with two or more GIS packages
•Formal training (Bachelor’s degree or Master’s) or high level of experience with GIS
•Macro / C / C++ / Visual Basic programming skills preferred
•1-3 years GIS- related work experience required
•Previous experience in the energy industry preferred

Qualifications
•Superior GIS skills and understanding
•Excellent verbal / written communication skills
•Understanding of and/or willing to learn math and statistical analysis
•Genuinely excited and enthusiastic about learning and pushing technical limits/ finding new solutions
•A basic understanding of the concepts behind data management in a relational database
•Good IT technical skills
• Ability to think and solve problems and think outside the box
•Strong analytical/ problem solving skills
•Entrepreneurial, self starter
•Meticulous attention to detail
•Excellent oral and written presentation skills
•Ability to multi-task and prioritize competing time demands

•Fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth
